About Me
I am a lifelong learner committed to responding to the circumstances of each classroom and student. My values as a teacher are centred in community, engagement, and creativity. With an approach that fosters a sense of belonging and agency, my students can grow into self-assured individuals who know the value of collaboration, dialogue, and their own gifts.
My Story
I earned by BFA at Emily Carr University of Art & Design in 2015. For the next ten years I served my community in the art and education world. I worked at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie in curatorial, archival, and programming. I also worked as an Education Assistant at an outreach high school where I taught Art 10-30 and supported diverse learners. This is where my passion for teaching started. Later on, I started a soccer club for youth called Koora Elite Soccer Academy, where we focused on individualized learning regimens and community engagement. I have taught art classes for all ages inside and outside of institution. I also illustrate educational children's books focused on mathematics.
